Preparing for Your Appointment
A few simple steps to ensure we make the most of our time together.
Complete Your Intake Forms
Completing intake and consent forms in advance is essential for a comprehensive evaluation. Forms are completed through a secure patient portal and should be submitted at least 24 hours before your visit to allow adequate review.
What to Have Ready
Please gather the following before your appointment:
- •Recent medical records and visit summaries from other providers
- •Prior laboratory results and diagnostic reports (blood work, imaging, etc.)
- •A current list or photos of all medications, vitamins, herbs, and supplements you are taking
- •Written questions or priorities you would like to address during the visit
Communication Policy
If you are new to the practice, please schedule an intro call, otherwise the practice can be contacted for brief questions or logistics. More complex clinical questions may require a scheduled visit to ensure adequate time for review and discussion.
Please use the secure patient portal for all communication when possible to protect your privacy and maintain a clear record of our correspondence.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or seek care at the nearest emergency department. Pattern Naturopathic does not provide urgent/emergent medical services.
Payment Policy
Payment is due at the time of each visit. We accept credit cards, debit cards, HSA cards, and FSA cards.
Visit length and complexity may vary based on individual needs. Standard visit fees are outlined on the FAQ page.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Appointments constitute reserved consulting time. At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment without a cancellation fee. Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled through the patient portal or by calling or texting 202-505-5475.
Cancellations or rescheduled appointments made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time will incur a cancellation fee of $50. Any appointment for which you are more than 15 minutes late will be considered a missed appointment and subject to the same fee.
To enforce this policy, a credit card is kept on file for all patients.
Insurance & Receipts
Pattern Naturopathic does not bill insurance directly. The practice is out-of-network and self-pay.
Standard labs through Labcorp are often covered and billed by the lab. For visits, you may request a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible partial out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement eligibility and amount depend entirely on your individual insurance plan. For more details, see the insurance FAQ.
Nutritional Supplements
Supplements may be recommended as part of your care plan, but you are not required to purchase them through the practice.
Supplements offered through Pattern Naturopathic dispensaries are selected for quality, purity, convenience, and appropriate dosing. You are always welcome to source recommended products elsewhere if you prefer; however, because the FDA does not regulate the supplement industry to the same extent as pharmaceuticals, lower-quality products have at times been found to contain contaminants such as heavy metals or, in the case of fish oils, to be rancid or oxidized.
